Team Management
Add team members, manage permissions, and collaborate on competitive intelligence
RivalReport makes it easy to share competitive intelligence across your team. This guide covers adding members, managing permissions, and collaborating effectively.
Team Member Limits
The number of team members depends on your plan:

Adding Team Members
Inviting a New Member
To add a team member (Agency and Enterprise plans):
- Go to Settings > Team
- Click Invite Member
- Enter their email address
- Select their role (see Roles below)
- Click Send Invite
They'll receive an email with instructions to join.
Invitation Expiration
Invitations expire after 7 days. To resend:
- Go to Settings > Team
- Find the pending invitation
- Click Resend
Team Roles
Admin
Full access to everything:
- View all competitors and reports
- Add/remove competitors
- Manage team members
- Access billing and settings
- Configure integrations
Member
Standard access for daily use:
- View all competitors and reports
- Export reports
- Receive email and Slack notifications
- Cannot change settings or billing
Viewer (Enterprise only)
Read-only access:
- View reports only
- Cannot export or modify anything
- Ideal for stakeholders who need visibility
Changing Member Roles
To change a team member's role:
- Go to Settings > Team
- Find the team member
- Click the role dropdown
- Select the new role
- Click Save
Changes take effect immediately.
Removing Team Members
To remove a team member:
- Go to Settings > Team
- Find the team member
- Click Remove
- Confirm the removal
They'll immediately lose access to the account.
Team Activity
Viewing Team Activity
Admins can see team activity:
- Go to Settings > Team
- Click Activity Log
- View recent actions by team members
Activity tracked includes:
- Competitors added/removed
- Reports exported
- Settings changed
- Team member changes
Audit Logs (Enterprise)
Enterprise plans include detailed audit logs:
- All API access
- Login/logout events
- Configuration changes
- Export history
Logs can be exported for compliance purposes.
Collaboration Features
Shared Notes
Add notes to competitors that your team can see:
- Go to a competitor's profile
- Click Add Note
- Enter your observation or insight
- Click Save
Notes are visible to all team members.
Report Comments
Team members can comment on report sections:
- Highlight important changes
- Add context or insights
- Tag other team members
Email Distribution
Configure who receives reports:
- Go to Settings > Email Preferences
- Add team members as recipients
- Choose what each person receives
- Click Save
Transferring Ownership
To transfer account ownership to another admin:
- Go to Settings > Team
- Click Transfer Ownership
- Select the new owner (must be an admin)
- Confirm the transfer
You'll remain on the team as an admin.
SSO/SAML (Enterprise)
Enterprise plans support Single Sign-On:

- We'll provide SSO configuration details
- Configure your identity provider
- Share the metadata with us
- We'll complete the setup
SSO Enforcement
Once enabled, you can:
- Require SSO for all team members
- Disable password login
- Auto-provision users from your IdP

Access Management
- Use the principle of least privilege
- Review team access quarterly
- Remove departed employees promptly
- Use SSO when available

- Share relevant insights in team channels
